World Book Day 2017

We had another amazing World Book Day here at QES this year. The school librarians pulled off an amazing event that the lucky thirty chosen applicants got to enjoy. We had Elizabeth Shorrock – a spellbinding paper artist who made ‘exploding’ notebooks with us. We then had a lunchtime quiz and dress up with an amazing spread of food; and in the afternoon we were extremely fortunate to have the bestselling author of Longbourne Jo Baker come and run a fantasy writing workshop for us! On top of all this we had a story running throughout the school day, another segment read at the begging of each lesson and our Guerrilla readers who surprised unsuspecting classes with performances from very famous books.

Thank you to all who had made the day so successful!

World Book Day 2017 in the library!

It’s World book day on the 2nd of March and there is loads happening to celebrate it. We are doing bookish papercraft in the morning, and in the afternoon we are having a writing workshop. Of course, fancy dress as your favourite book character is essential for those involved 😉

As per tradition at QES we will also have the guerrillas running around classrooms and surprising unsuspecting students by performing book extracts!
